Tucked away on the edge of the harbour, Rise in West Bay has become one of our favourite go-to spots, whether we’re craving a laid-back brunch with the kids or a cosy dinner watching the sun go down.
Local eats, hidden gems, and foodie favourites – explore them all in our Dorset Trip Planner.
The Setting

There’s something about Rise’s waterside setting that feels instantly relaxing. With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the river and a mix of rustic wood, warm lighting and chilled vibes, it strikes the perfect balance between stylish and welcoming. Whether you’re sat inside on a winter day by the log burner or grabbing a table on the deck in warmer weather, it’s the kind of place that always makes you feel like you’re on holiday, even if you only live ten minutes away.

The Brunch
Brunch at Rise is hard to beat. Think generously stacked pancakes, perfectly poached eggs, and the fluffiest sourdough toast. We’ve worked our way through most of the menu and keep coming back to the classics: smashed avocado, the Rise Breakfast, and their pancake stacks which are seriously yummy! Great coffee, fresh juices, and plenty of choice for little ones make it a solid family favourite.

The Evening Menu
Dinner has a seasonal menu that always impresses. From fresh fish to the best burgers, delicious curry’s and veggie options that feel anything but an afterthought, the kitchen consistently delivers flavour and creativity. We’ve celebrated birthdays here, had impromptu date nights, and even popped in for a drink and some small plates after a beach walk. It’s relaxed but still feels special exactly what you want from a local spot.

Rise is one of those rare places that works for every occasion, brunch with the kids, cocktails with friends, or a quiet dinner for two. If you’re visiting West Bay or lucky enough to live nearby, it’s well worth a visit (or several).
