Family Escape: Our Summers at Cotswold Valley Court

Each summer, our 17-strong family that is scattered across the country gets together in one magical spot: Cotswold Valley Court, a beautiful seven-bedroom house in a classic chocolate-box village booked through Kate & Tom’s.

The House: Country-Luxe & Sprawling

Cotswold Valley Court sits on three acres of lush, dog-friendly gardens, with rolling hills as your backdrop . The house dates back to 1650 but has been lovingly upgraded to feel fresh and family-friendly think exposed brick walls, oak beams, contemporary bathrooms, and freestanding baths .

Inside, there are seven beautifully designed bedrooms (sleeping up to 19), all featuring en-suite showers, three include baths, perfect for a soak after a busy day. Natural light floods the living areas, where comfy sofas sit beneath beam-lined ceilings, and a central log burner adds a cosy charm and a perfect place to relax in the winter months.

Garden & Games: Space to Relax and Play

Step outside and you’ll find a countryside haven. A seven-person hot tub bubbles away under the sky, fields surround the house and a large outdoor sofa with shade is the perfect spot to relax and dine al fresco.

Kids have their own dedicated play zone, complete with a climbing frame, swings, and slide all set on vast lawns that invite games of croquet, cricket, or football.

Kitchen & Dining: Feed a Crowd (or Hire a Chef)

The kitchen is at the heart of the home equipped with three ovens, a five-ring gas hob and coffee machine station. There’s a dining table set to seat 16 under oak beams and chandeliers, perfect for shared family feasts, there is also a BBQ outside.

If you want a break from cooking, Kate & Tom’s also offer chef services, we tried this last year as we were celebrating 40th birthdays and it was lovely to have someone else cook!

Bedrooms & Family-Sized Comfort

Sleeping up to 19 people, the house offers flexible sleeping layouts:

  • Bedrooms with super-king or king beds
  • Family rooms with additional singles
  • A snug room with a sofa bed

Every room features luxe touches, deep mattresses, oak beams, en-suite bathrooms with power showers or free standing baths, and garden views.

Things to Do Nearby

  • Stroll to the village pub for fireside pints, we love The Kings Arms and tried The Old Neighbourhood this time
  • Explore Westonbirt Arboretum, the Rococo Gardens, or Berkeley Castle, all a short drive away
  • Visit Cotswold Wildlife Park for a family day out

Why We Go Back Year After Year

It’s rare to find a place so perfectly balanced between space, comfort, and charm. With room for kids to run wild and adults to unwind, every corner, from the hot tub to the countryside views feels like a retreat. It’s no wonder we’ve booked this house two summers running, we’re already dreaming of next year.
