Perched above Chesil Beach in Burton Bradstock, The Seaside Boarding House has become one of our favourite local spots for cocktails and special meals. It feels like a little slice of the Med right here in Dorset.
The Setting
From the moment you arrive, it’s hard not to fall for the charm of this white clapboard building. Overlooking the Jurassic Coast with sweeping views of the sea, it feels like a secret retreat, somewhere you’d expect to stumble across in Cornwall or even southern Europe.

Cocktails with a View
We often head here for pre-dinner cocktails in the lounge or on the terrace. The drinks menu is classic and well executed, with local sparkling wines making the menu. The setting makes it extra special, especially at sunset, when the light hits the water and the view stretches all the way down the coast.

Food Worth Dressing Up For
The restaurant strikes a lovely balance between laid-back and elegant. Think linen napkins, fresh flowers, and a seasonal menu built around beautifully cooked local ingredients. Whether it’s a special birthday dinner or a long lunch with friends, it always feels like an occasion here.

Seafood & more
The seafood is divine here – they really focus on just good food, thoughtful service, and one of the best views in Dorset.

Whether you’re celebrating something special or just in the mood for a well-made drink with a sea breeze, The Seaside Boarding House never disappoints. It’s one of those places that makes you feel lucky to call this part of the world home.
